Ainsworth Public Library is dependent on the support and enthusiasm of community members to keep the library operating as well as it does.  We are particularly indebted to those volunteers who regularly staff the library for an extra hour in the evening.  Come in on a Tuesday between 6-7pm and you'll meet our longtime volunteer, Sandy Whitcomb.  On Wednesday you'll meet Peter Oparowski, who keeps the library open from 7-8pm.

The Friends of the Library are a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the library in an on-going basis.  They organize several annual fund raisers, including a Father's Day Pancake Breakfast.  Profits from Friends' fund-raising have gone towards the purchase of the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award nominee books, Red Clover award nominee books, and children's programming.  The Friends meet  informally throughout the year, and meetings are scheduled around participant's availability.  The Friends of the Library are always looking for new members!  If you would like more information, please call the library at 433-5887.
